Bert Stevens Wins Record-Breaking $2.78 Million in WSOP Online Main Event, Yagen Li Finishes Second for $2.06 Million

On July 5th, 2020, Bert Stevens became the latest winner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Main Event, taking home a record-breaking $2.78 million in prize money. The event was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Stevens was one of 8,569 players who entered the tournament.

The WSOP Online Main Event began on July 1st and lasted four days. It was the largest online poker tournament ever held, with a total prize pool of $20.5 million. The top 1,000 players were guaranteed a minimum payout of $15,000.

Stevens, who is from the United Kingdom, was the chip leader going into the final table and managed to maintain his lead throughout the tournament. He defeated Yagen Li, who finished in second place for $2.06 million. The other players at the final table included American poker pros David Peters, Ryan Riess, and Joe McKeehen.

Stevens’ win marks the first time a British player has won the WSOP Main Event since 2007. He is also the first player to win more than $2 million in an online poker tournament.

The win was especially impressive considering that Stevens only started playing poker two years ago. He had previously worked as a software engineer but decided to pursue poker full-time after winning a few tournaments.

The WSOP Online Main Event was a huge success and attracted players from all over the world. It is a testament to the popularity of online poker and shows that the game is here to stay.

Congratulations to Bert Stevens on his record-breaking win!
